The Travel Channel and Delaware North Travel Hospitality Services are teaming up to open more retail outlets to select airports across the country. "We take pride in partnering with innovative brands like Travel Channel to continually evolve the airport retail experience," said Bob Stanton, Delaware North Travel Hospitality Services vice president. According to Delaware North, the Travel Channel stores will feature merchandise related to programming from the cable TV network. The Travel Channel specializes in shows combining travel and other activities, such as Man v. Food and Dhani Tackles the Globe. "Partnering with Delaware North to create Travel Channel-branded retail locations presents a great opportunity for us to build our brand presence and engage travelers with our entertaining content as they embark on their journeys," said Pat Younge, Travel Channel Media president and general manager. Delaware North has been forging a series of retailing partnerships in recent years, according to Buffalo Business First. Others include working with Los Angeles Coffee Bean & Tea Leafs, Sports Illustrated, Heineken and uWink. Careers in the travel industry are likely to expand in the airline sector. The FAA predicts that there will be 1 billion airline passengers a year in the U.S. by the year 2021.  |
