Creative people may succeed in culinary careers
People who are interested in a career in the culinary arts don't necessarily have to have the dream of working in a high-end restaurant - sometimes the desire to create may be all that is required.

One self-taught chef is making a name for himself on the internet by taking the food from national fast food restaurants and turning them into "fancier" foods.

Erik Trinidad uses various meals from places such as Popeye's and Taco Bell, and has turned food from there into meals such as the Spicy Chicken Sushi and Tacobellini.

The chef features his creations on his website, FancyFastFood.com and told the Associated Press the pressure is on him to come up with different ideas.

"I'm just sort of making it up as I go week to week," Trinidad said.

While Trinidad may not have any formal training, people who share his enthusiasm for creating something unique and different can use that toward a professional culinary career. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the top 10 percent of chefs can earn approximately $60,000 a year.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19343390-ADNFCR
