Keeping a resume fresh can not only help individuals embark on new careers, but temporary jobs as well. Throughout the holiday season, a number of working professionals look for part-time jobs for a little extra money to pay the bills. Tailoring a resume to meet the demands of companies hiring seasonal employees can help a job hunter land a new position.

Experts predict seasonal jobs to be abundant this year, according to FOX Business. A survey conducted by Aon Hewitt found that 55% of employers are hiring the same number of temporary workers, while 29% plan to hire more people than last year. Because of the high unemployment rate, however, opportunities will go quickly.

"Good seasonal job resumes should list the seasonal job as the objective and showcase experience in similar jobs, as well as seasonal job-related skills like inventory control and order taking," author and industry expert Alexandra Levit tells the news source.

The unemployment rate in the U.S. was 9.6% in October, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. As the market remains competitive, customizing a resume to appeal to employers can give applicants an edge.
