A national newspaper is reminding job seekers some of the important aspects involved with a successful resume, which may be heightened given the current state of the country's economy. Tiffany Hsu of the Los Angeles Times wrote yesterday that using innovative tactics and catering to the company you are applying to can increase your chances at garnering the attention of the executive sifting through the pile of resumes. For those in the financial sector, addressing your ability to boost the company's revenue can be helpful, Hsu wrote. Using examples on how you can accomplish this can add another level to the resume. Hsu also suggested creating a digital resume, one with simple HTML codes (for bolding italicizing, indents) , on hand to send to prospective employers. People who are currently in the hunt for a new job may want to keep in mind the latest unemployment figures that were released last month. The jobless rate increased to 8.5%, which is reportedly a 25-year high, suggesting the better crafted a resume is, the better chance it has at catching the right eye for the perfect job. |
