As technology continues to integrate its way into various industries, the health care field is quickly catching on. Many physicians' offices are adapting to use virtual medical records that are efficient because they save a lot of paper work. Because of this, there is a larger need for training in order to get staff members completely adapted to the new systems.

A career in health information technology (IT) could be easier to come by because of a $1 billion grant provided by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The funding will go towards incorporating more health technology into more than 100,000 health providers and will create tens of thousands of jobs, according to TheGovMonitor.com.

“These grant awards, the first of their kind, will help develop our electronic infrastructure and give doctors and other health care providers the support they need as they adopt this powerful technology," HHS secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, told the news provider.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in health IT will increase by 20% by 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19619866-ADNFCR
