One of the fastest growing industries in the country, the health care field continues to need new, qualified workers. As the baby boomer generation gets older, many people believe there will need to be a drastic rise in hiring to meet the needs of all the individuals requiring proper health care. Despite an overall crumbling job market, the health care industry continues to be a silver lining on the dark cloud of unemployment. Because almost all states have expressed a need for health care workers, there is an array of opportunities wherever a potential employee lives, according to the Boston Globe. "Health care is still one of the best, most reliable sectors for work," Karen Nelson, senior vice president of clinical affairs for the Massachusetts Hospital Association, told the news provider. According to the news source, home health care workers are expected to have the highest projected growth with a 50% increase by 2018. Overall, the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the health care field to grow by 22% in the next 9 years. |
