In any job path, an education, career experience and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances will promote the success of any professional. But a golden idea and a strong motivation are also vital for those who wish to pursue entrepreneurship.

One entrepreneur, John Ruocco, was stirred to make a difference after hearing about how his uncle was killed by an inebriated driver, and vowed help eliminate the country's drunk driving problem, ABC News reports.

Years later, Ruocco has succeed in developing a field test that can measure a driver's level of sobriety and send the information to local authorities in real-time. He began with small steps, researching industry experts about a niche product that would improve driver safety.

"I took a survey of the entire industry - what was good, what was bad, what was lacking," the 62-year-old entrepreneur told the news source.

He added, "Although the [breathalyzer] was around since 1975, there were no improvements made - there was a basic rudimentary device."

His new device prevents drunk drivers from turning on their cars without first passing a breathalyzer, and can send failed test results to a 911 emergency center.

According to SimplyHired, the average annual income for an entrepreneur is $111,000.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19774412-ADNFCR
