Three Connecticut universities are expanding their list of programs this fall as they welcome more than 4,500 incoming freshmen. Fairfield University will introduce the Creative Life Residential College this September. The program offers dormitories for sophomores in a "living and learning" environment. Students and faculty in all departments are welcome, as the program will help people to explore their individuality. The college intends to promote synergy between all schools of thought at the university, and takes a deep look at creativity as related to business, science, arts, engineering and more. The University of Bridgeport has a number of new offerings, including a pre-pharmacy track as a precursor to the University of Connecticuts program. The school is also opening a Global Services MBA and Physician Assistant program, as well as a digital-age minor in New Media studies. Lastly, following its PhD in Physical Therapy, Sacred Heart University is introducing its second doctoral program in Nursing Practice. The 2010-2011 year not only brings new courses, but the schools are also experiencing its own new records. Fairfield enrolled its freshman class under an SAT-optional policy for the first time and Sacred Hearts Class of 2014 is its largest ever. |
