According to recent research, the methods with which pedagogues approach physical education instruction could have a significant impact on the long-term enjoyment students get out of sports.

A study published in the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education attempted to analyze the factors which contribute to achieving a "good vibe" while in a gym class or while playing a sport.

For the purposes of the research, professors from the University of Almeria in Spain defined "good vibe" as the psychological state that allows people to perform a task with "the best possible psychic conditions."

A survey of 358 boys and 421 girls between 12 and 16 years old revealed that motivation by physical education teachers, personal goals and one's perceived competence at performing the athletic activity are all associated with enjoyment.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the overall employment of teachers is expected to increase by 12 percent between 2006 and 2016.
