Teachers and other educators often have strong communications skills and are able to pass on their knowledge to students, hopefully inspiring the next generation to learn more about the world. Those in this field are also adept at communicating their thoughts and experiences to students. Memorable teachers sometimes encourage their classes to ask questions and examine life in order to get the most out of life. Some teachers hope to travel as part of their continuing education and to bring a deeper ring of truth to their lessons and advice. In fact, one program encourages these professionals to attend their own version of summer school in a different country. Fund for Teachers fellowships enabled some Minneapolis-based educators to expand their knowledge abroad. For example, one teacher travelled to Cuernavaca, Mexico, in order to participate in a Spanish language program. Those interested in becoming teachers first have to consider what age and subject with which they would most like to work. For example, those who work with children in preschool, kindergarten, middle and secondary school held 4 million jobs back in 2006, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals. |
