Going back to school is a great option for people who are looking to switch careers or learn more about another industry. Massachusetts recently announced that it would be opening its first state law program this upcoming school year, and things are in full swing. Orientation is well underway for the new University of Massachusetts law school, according to The Herald News. With 182 students in the inaugural class at the Dartmouth location, the school is ready to start the new year off with a bang. In total, almost 500 people applied to the school, according to the news source. There was so much interest in the UMass law program that the class size was increased to 182 from 123. Classes start on Monday at the school, which has been working to become a reality since 2005. UMass Law has already had more than 1,000 inquires from people interested in applying for the next year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of lawyers is expected to increase by 13% through 2018.  |
