Law enforcement officers can often ensure civility within an otherwise unruly environment, such as a prison. Prison guards are used to keep order in correctional facilities to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary occurs. Often, correctional facility officers must be physically strong and be able to restrain an individual if needed. They also must have a sense of leadership, as they are in charge of keeping order.

The idea of a new prison in Prescott Valley, Arizona, is being pitched by Mayor Harvey Skoog, who said the new facility will give more jobs to the community, according to The Daily Courier. The mayor was approached about the endeavor a couple of months before, and decided he was ultimately in favor of the idea, saying it could provide more jobs. However, the majority of the community is against the building.

"In mid- or early December, I was advised that Prescott Valley was considered as a possible location of an entity that would afford jobs and economics," Skoog said in a written statement. "This thought, considering our serious local economic condition, due to our nationwide recession, looked very attractive."

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of careers in law enforcement is expected to increase 9% by 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19585458-ADNFCR
