Some people believe that careers in psychology can really help people through counseling. Many troubled individuals seek the guidance and wisdom of psychologists to help steer them in the right direction – whether it be career, family life or other troubling events. Psychologists are often respected for serving the people.

Recently, two psychologists in Louisiana received state honors for their work in the counseling profession, according to The News Star. Connie Cassels and Teresa Cencer were recognized at the Louisiana School Psychologists Association (LSPA) convention, which was held in Lafayette.

Cassels already was a part of the LSPA, and her recognition was based on her work of integrating the organization with various school districts. Cencer was named the Louisiana School Psychologist of the year for her work with children and her ability to communicate with teachers.

Not only is a career in psychology rewarding, but it also offers an array of opportunities in different fields. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, mental health psychologists will be the fastest growing field in terms of career opportunities. The field is expected to increase by 24% by 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19569249-ADNFCR
