In a slowly recovering economy, many people are choosing to either stay in or go back to school in order to set them apart from others in the work force. One school is adding a new psychology program as an option for their students to explore new possibilities. Trinity College, a private Christian college in Florida, will be adding a new four-year psychology program starting in Fall 2010. The college, which is known for blending religion with academics, has offered psychology classed before but never had the option to obtain a bachelors degree in the subject. "I'm always looking for ways to apply what they learn in the psychology course not just to ministry but to the various careers the students have chosen," Elizabeth Earle-Warfe, an instructor at Trinity who will be heading up the new psychology program, told the SunCoast News. New psychology students at Trinity will still be required to take 54 credit hours of theology and 40 credits of general studies. Trinity may be on the right track with adding a psychology option for students, according to the Princeton Review, psychology is the second most popular major in college. |
