Ideally, every job seeker is looking for the position that gives him or her some sense of fulfillment. Because not everybody is satisfied by financial compensation or prestige, may professionals opt go into careers in counseling, and are rewarded by knowing that they can support others who may be in need. In Starkville, Mississippi, a new counseling services, called InWard View Ministries, recently held a luncheon explaining their contribution to the community, the Starkville Daily News reports. The group's coordinator, Alfaye Calmes Brown, told the news source that InWard View's purpose is "to be there for the community, in every aspect, whether its substance abuse, crisis intervention, depression, anxiety - we're here." She added that the ministry realizes that there are "a lot of broken people." Brown believes that "together has a team, we have the answer" to these problems. In addition to the in-house services offered by InWard View, the counselors have launched an outpatient program called Embracing Recovery, that is aimed at supporting those who are coping with substance abuse and addiction. According to government statistics, the employment counselors is expected to rise by about 18 percent through 2019.  |
