An individual who has a talent for the arts may find through an aptitude test that they have the skills to enter a career in psychology as well. Art is an outlet that many people use to express their emotions, and individuals may find it to be therapeutic.

Philippe Dodard is one example of a person who has used art to cope with emotional turmoil, CNN reports. Following the earthquake in Haiti earlier this year, Dodard was forced to look for a way to express what he was feeling after witnessing the death of loved ones. He turned to painting, and founded the Plas Timoun for Haitian children who were devastated by the natural disaster.

"It's only when I started painting, all of my emotions that were buried inside started coming out," Dodard told the news source.

Plas Timoun provides children with the counseling and therapeutic resources they need to recover. Theater, art and music activities are held for participants who want to express their emotions through creativity.

Psychology jobs are predicted to increase by 12% over the next 8 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
