The 13th annual International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology, Incorporated (ICSPP) Conference will take place in Syracuse, New York, and will coincide with Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) during the first week of October.

The conference has expanded to include $25 all-day workshops due to the demand for mental health, counseling, effective parenting and mental health consumer information that is provided by the ICSPP.

The MIAW was originally established for the first week of October in order to recognize the efforts of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) in raising awareness about mental illness. The National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding is October 5.

ICSPP executive director, Dr. Toby Watson, said the 2010 conference "is about brining inspirational evidence based interventions and ideas together in a fashion that listeners can enjoy and find entertaining."

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, psychologists held approximately 170,200 jobs in 2008 and 21 percent were employed in healthcare, including in the offices of mental health practitioners.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19934764-ADNFCR
