People interested in a career in information technology are usually looking for a job that is widely used among a variety of fields. Because technology has become so integrated into business, the need for IT continues to grow to match the needs of various organizations. Ranging from healthcare to business, information technology can open the doors to almost any field.

Because of it's large popularity among various industries, the University Alliance Catalog recently named the IT profession one of the careers to watch out for in 2010, as many job opportunities could open up.

While individuals who have an extensive knowledge in designing and developing company's information systems will be a hot commodity for employers, organizations also indicated they're looking for new hires to fill full-time positions.

A survey from Robert Half Technology conducted on Chief Information Officers also indicated the CIOs plan to hire more staff rather than cut employment numbers, which is what some other industries are doing to their workforce.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that jobs in information technology are expected to increase more than other professions with a 17 percent rise in employment.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19533055-ADNFCR
