Women over the age of 55 are still finding jobs
Careers have been hard to come by since the beginning of the recession. Because a number of those who are job searching are older individuals who were laid off from their last profession, it has become increasingly difficult to find careers in a number of fields. Many individuals who have graduated are also finding themselves having to take temp jobs as a way to bolster their experience against their job competitors with higher qualifications.

However, one specific group of individuals is still doing well in the job market. White women who are over the age of 55 with at least some college education are getting more jobs than any other group, according to the Christian Science Monitor.

The unemployment rate for adult white women fell to 6.8% in January, dropping 0.6 percentage points. Analysts believe that these women finding jobs also attributed to the national unemployment average dropping to 9.7% in the past month.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, women currently make up 48% of the national workforce.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19604110-ADNFCR
