The economy has left a devastating effect on the employment market – leading many to question their job security and others to be laid off from work. Through all of this, many individuals have begun looking for alternative options as their careers take a tumble. Although many industries are failing during the recession, one field that is doing increasingly well is health care.

Although many people are continuing to find careers in nursing, many areas are still facing a crippling shortage, leading them to seek out more help. According to Fox 59 in Ohio, the state is noticing a growing trend of people who are looking for new careers going into the nursing industry for job security purposes.

The news provider reveals that an auto-worker recently quit his job for fear of being laid off to take up nursing school so he could ensure better job security. Typical training for a nursing degree for those with another certification takes around 13 months.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the nursing field is expected to grow by 22% by 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19571890-ADNFCR
