The recent recession has caused many businesses to restructure and many hopeful employees to seek other options. Branching out using previous knowledge and adapting it to a growing field may be what's needed to ensure career success. One of the bigger movements driving the economy is the environment. Going green has been a hot topic in many industries, as they look for new ways to become more sustainable.

Bread for the World, a Christian group that promotes ending world hunger, recently asked Congress to create more sustainable jobs in the wake of the recent unemployment figures. The group believes that green careers could be key to increasing the hiring rate.

The fields that would benefit the most include manufacturing and construction, as the market for green homes and buildings would grow.

Similarly, many companies are looking to go green themselves by appointing eco-friendly executives to oversee their sustainability, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that green jobs are expected to be one of the fastest growing professions in the country as many different industries look for ways to integrate sustainability into their companies.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19551341-ADNFCR
