Finding a job can be tough in the slow-recovering economy. However, one university is trying to make things a little bit easier by teaching people some tips on how to find a job.

Governors State University is working with Illinois Representative Debbie Halvorson, and other organizations to present a job hunters boot camp for members of the community who are searching for a job.

This is the third event in the Job Hunter Boot Camp series, sponsored by the Illinois representative.

The event will offer job seekers a chance to prepare themselves for a changing job market, with practical advice given by local area professionals. People who choose to attend have the chance to participate in some workshops ranging from navigating the online job market, resume reviews and budgeting finances. Also, in addition to job speakers, those who are interested in starting their own business are encouraged to come and network with representatives from the university's CenterPoint Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in June dropped from 9.7% to 9.5%. ADNFCR-1502-ID-19879159-ADNFCR
