With more attention being paid to green jobs these days, people may find themselves wondering how to get one.

Green jobs were one of the main selling points of the economic stimulus bill, and some signs of progress are already apparent as funds become available nationwide for energy efficiency projects as well as renewable energy projects.

A recent Miami Herald report advises people looking for green jobs to know exactly what their interests are in the field, to aid with networking as well as the job search itself. Job seekers are also advised to take stock of whether their current position gives them any environmental credentials, and to seek additional education or training if this is not the case.

Elsewhere, a report on GreenBiz.com notes that many green job opportunities are expected to involve labor more than management, but also cites prospects for college graduates and mid-career professionals.

Some tips offered in the report include launching some green initiatives of your own in your current workplace and checking the individual websites of green companies for job postings that may not be on other job hunting websites.
