New York Life has announced plans to recruit thousands of workers with finance experience on their resume this year. The company said that the move follows a successful recruitment campaign last year when more than 3,600 new agents were hired by the life insurance agency. Rich Simonetti, vice president in charge of field recruiting, said the company has seen unprecedented growth over the past 6 years, and is looking to hire another 3,700 finance professionals in 2012. "The demand for financial professionals is strong. In fact, according to a recent survey, 14% of Americans report they plan to seek professional help managing their finances in 2012," Simonetti noted. "The company is committed to growing its agent force, more than 12,250 strong, who represent a key market differentiator among life insurers and one that has kept New York Life an industry leader in good times and bad." New York Life said it was also actively looking to recruit more women and those who can serve ethnic markets. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for insurance sales agents are expected to grow 12% through the end of the decade. |
