Accounting and finance professionals looking to add continuing education hours to their resume may be interested in this year's Decosimo seminar taking place in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The 2012 Decosimo Business Leaders Series will include an accounting industry update by keynote speaker Richard Townsend, director of the master of accountancy program at the University of Tennessee, and three afternoon courses - "Effective Leadership," the "Current State of Estate and Gift Tax" and "Business Killers to Avoid." Afternoon breakout sessions will include discussions on accounting issues in audits and a panel presentation on "Due Diligence and Other Acquisition Issues," which will be presented by Decosimo professionals, including Brent McDade, who is the managing director of the company's advisory services. Accountants and other business finance professionals in the area may sign up for a full- or half-day session, which will take place at the Chattanooga Convention Center on May 22 beginning at 8 a.m. All attendees can earn up to 8 continuing education hours to add to their resume. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that employment opportunities for accountants and auditors are expected to increase by 16% through 2020. |
