Business students applying for business finance jobs should ensure they network with industry professionals to improve their chances of getting hired, the Temple News has reported.

Despite uncertainty in the financial markets with merges of major financial corporations, there are still jobs to be found in the sector, according to Manu Patak, majoring in finance and information systems.

"It's more important now than ever to build a huge network," said Mr Phatak.

Meanwhile, student Jordan Salmeron said he felt that jobs in accounting may be more stable than other jobs in the finance industry.

"All accounting firms do have a financial sector in them, so I plan to keep it within accounting until the economy itself is more stable," he said.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook, prepared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reports that employment of auditors and accountants between 2006 and 2016 is set to increase by 18%, with some 226,000 jobs predicted to be added to the sector during this 10-year period.ADNFCR-1502-ID-18815845-ADNFCR
