Many individuals who are interested in careers in finance tend to focus on accounting, as it can serve as a stepping stone to other financial branches. Accounting can either be handled on a personal or corporate level. People with careers in accounting could find themselves under contract with entire companies, which could ultimately lead to other positions within the organization.

Michael Grendi, who had previous experience in the accounting field, was recently announced as the new chief financial officer (CFO) of Beacon Solutions, which manages high performance information technology solutions. Although he has held previous CFO positions in the past, his credentials include working in general accounting. Having 23 years of experience in the financial field allowed him to move up in the ranks.

Although a CFO position may be hard to come by, a career in accounting can also prove to be a rewarding and lucrative position.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals who work in corporate accounting can earn an average of $60,000 in annual salary.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19624942-ADNFCR
