The media industry has faced a lot of issues with the recession. Many people have turned to the internet as their form of getting the news and watching television shows and movies. Websites such as Hulu and the major newspapers going virtual have caused the broadcast and publishing fields to struggle. However, major media conglomerates have given hope to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in media.

Time Warner has had success in their recent movie openings with films such as The Blind Side and Sherlock Holmes, both of which were produced through the company's Warner Brothers studio, according to The New York Times.

Because of the success of these films, coupled with the DVD sales from the recent Harry Potter movie and The Hangover, the media conglomerate may be back on its way to the top.

"There is increasing evidence that industry trends are going our way," Time Warner's chief executive officer, Jeffrey Bewkes, told the news provider.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in the media can be a lucrative field, as workers can earn as much as $80,000 in annual salary.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19596470-ADNFCR
