Everyone loves a witty and beautiful card. But the artists who design the creative watercolors and cartoons that make that perfect card are often never truly acknowledged. Now, the company is giving them the opportunity to show off their personal work.

As part of Hallmark's 100th birthday celebration, an event called "Hallmarket: A Hallmark Artist Art Fair" will be held on October 2, to showcase the artists'work.

Close to 70 Hallmark artists, photographers, designers and sculptors will display and sell their work at Hallmark Square in Kansas City, Missouri. The works that will be exhibited and for sale are pieces that have been created outside of their jobs at Hallmark.

“Hallmark is fortunate to have one of the world’s largest creative staffs, right here in Kansas City,” said Regi Ahrens, manager of the Hallmark Visitors Center.“This is a rare chance to see the incredible talents of Hallmark employees outside of the greeting card aisle and to take home some truly unique works of art.”

These events are extremely important for artists, since it allows them to earn a little bit of extra money from something that they love. More than 60% of artists, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, are self-employed.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19935080-ADNFCR
