Methods: Conducted a literature review that assessed the interpersonal stressors and protective factors that interact with LGBTQ+ identities to cause or mitigate stress in high school environments.
Results: Factors associated with a hostile school environment were positively correlated with psychological and physical issues among LGBTQ+ students. Made recommendations for evidence-based practices that reduce hostility and discrimination in school climates to improve the wellbeing of marginalized students.
"Cultural Hybridity in Gloria Anzaldua's Borderlands/La Frontera: Protecting the Use of Chicano Language as a Mother Tongue" (LITERARY RESEARCH) - 2019
Methods: Analyzed the linguistic arguments in Gloria Anzaldua's culturally groundbreaking work, Borderlands/La Frontera.
Results: Language, culture, and identity are indelibly tied together. Chicano language, which blends elements of English and Spanish, should be protected as a mother tongue, as its erasure diminishes Chicano cultural identity.

"Understanding the Effects of Parent-Parent Attachment Modeling" - 2017
Methods: Surveyed 42 adult college students to assess how the perception of one's parents' attachment style affects childhood attachment development. Administered a modified version of Dr. Diane Poole Heller's adult attachment style test via Qualtrics to evaluate participants' perception of their parent's attachment styles as well as the participants' own attachment styles.
Results: Participants were more likely to have an attachment style that they perceived one or more of their parent as modeling
