  • I worked at Flowers Bakery & Co. at 651 commerce street Gretna, LA
  • It was a 2 man job. Another employee and I made sure that the warehouse floor was clear and ready for the trucks to drop off bread. We made sure the drivers had the correct product (bread) and we also confirmed we were receiving the right bread orders from the 18 wheelers to give to the drivers. Basically, there were large bread orders (aprox $20,000) that had to be sorted, checked, and properly dispersed to the drivers and by proxy to the proper locations before dawn.
  • We made sure this was done in a timely manner because orders had to be filled by morning. We also had to make sure the warehouse was ready for the next day of business.
  • Together, one other man and myself ran the warehouse that consisted of over 20 drivers with a gross inventory of bread that was aprox. $200,000-$250.000 each night.
  • We checked all documentation for the loads to ensure that they were properly completed and accurate.
  • Demonstrated great teamwork skills with staff members involved in production and transport. The drivers and I had a great rapport and it led to much better productivity.
  • Packed over 20,000 pounds of bread products daily while keeping detailed records of productivity and identifying areas for improvement.
