Critical Care Nurse/Critical Care Emergency Response Officer, 04/2010 to 04/2013

  • Developed Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation training platform; trained 13 Joint Force Personnel for DOD's sole Acute Lung Rescue Team and completed eight combat missions with 100% survival out of AOR.
  • Deployed to AFG as Joint Theater Trauma System (JTTS) Medevac Team Lead: led Joint Forces and educated 29 Medevac units/300 staff on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)/JTTS guidelines for a positive impact of 3.1K patients in AOR; SME to ISAF Medical Director for clinical outcomes of 120 pts/qtr
  • Deployed as Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) RN; completed 37 missions with a survival rate of >98%. Lead RN for Joint Task Force Aeromedical Evacuation Mission of Libyan Freedom Fighters.



Flight Commander/Operations Officer/NASA Med Response Lead Nurse, 10/2007 to 04/2010
United States Air Force – Edwards Air Force Base, CA
  • Directed a 26 member flight executing Flight Medicine, Occupational Health, and Optometry programs resulting in AFMC Team Aerospace Award; Deputy Commander and Operations Officer for 80 member/4 Flights.
  • Functioned as Deputy Team Chief for Field Triage Team; led members to respond during base exercises and three-real life aircraft mishaps. Provided crucial input to update Medical Contingency Response Plan and Base Contingency Emergency Management Plan.
  • Planned and conducted military and medical skills verification training for 200 personnel to ensure deployment readiness; innovatively created a Self Aid Buddy Care training plan and certified entire Medical Group in one day. 
  • Maintained medication, equipment, and supported training for 24/7 readiness of NASA med response as Lead Nurse. 



Critical Care/Med-Surg/PACU/OBGYN Registered Nurse, 08/1994 to 10/2007
United States Air Force – United States
  • Supervised 29 RNs and 12 EMTs while orchestrating bed status, and managing equipment and resources for a 10 bed Cardiothoracic ICU. 
  • Functioned as Interim Nurse Manager of Critical Care Air Transport Team Pilot Unit; coordinated deployment of six CCAT Teams and equipment to AOR, ensured training and readiness of 10 teams, and initiated data collection for Joint Theater Trauma System.
  • Deployed twice to Afghanistan and Iraq as CCATT RN; Transported 42 critical patients to higher echalon of care; Managed $400K of equipment and supplies, maintaining 24/7 readiness.
