An effective Software Development Executive with over 20 years of experience in development and technical management roles.
WHAT I'M DOING TODAY
Member of the executive leadership team at VirtualScopics. My colleagues and I are responsible for the day to day and long term direction of the company.
Department head for Software Development for both Clinical Trials and Personalized Medicine.
As an executive manager in the organization I am responsible for leading a department of software, test, and support engineers in the development of new product that allows the company to analyze, manage, and report on biomarker effects during imaging studies. Under my leadership the group has moved from being somewhat unstructured to a well focused team that consistently meets delivery dates and produces high quality software.
As an individual contributor I have made many significant contributions to the company. Many of the more recent software innovations at VirtualScopics such as remote reading platforms, web scoring, and data mining have arisen directly from my design and implementation. My skills in database tuning and development have lead to significant re-engineering of a legacy database design "under the hood" to allow for constant and rapid growth. I work fast and fluently in a large number of development environments and languages and am constantly reading to keep pace with new innovations. I can easily step into legacy environments, understand the prior engineer's thought patterns, and refactor the old into new.
