  • Serve as one of five vice presidents reporting directly to the president.
  • Lead a division of 30 that is responsible for the university's development, alumni relations, marketing, public occasions, and gift administration functions.
  • Reconstructed the Advancement organization for planning and implementation of a $50 million campaign, the institution's first comprehensive campaign in 20 years, which was publicly launched in fall 2014.
  • Increased the number of donors by 38 percent and unrestricted annual giving by 54 percent, and produced the second best overall cash year in the university's history ($6.9 million).
  • Facilitate the Board of Trustees Advancement and Governance committees, which include revising the board's code of regulations, and the selection and orientation of new trustees.
  • Created campaign operating procedures including gift acceptance policies, gift pipeline analysis, donor recognition programs, and integration strategies among alumni relations, marketing, and development.
  • Shaped fundraising plans for capital and programmatic funding needs within the university.
  • Developed strategies to maximize development and engagement opportunities for constituents, affinity groups, and high net-worth individuals.
  • Initiated a brand study and communication plan to market institutional identity and develop a case for support.
  • Commenced the redesign of the university's website and alumni magazine.
  • Increased visibility of the institution, by hosting national lectures and broadcasts, and generated an experts list for media placement.

  • Managed the day-to-day operations of the 50+ member individual giving staff, which included the annual giving, leadership annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, international development, and parents leadership giving programs.
  • This team produced approximately $30-$50 million in new commitments each year for the university.
  • Refined prospect management system and implemented a planning process to ensure that gift officers are focused on the best prospective donors and developing thorough cultivation strategies, which have resulted in an average of 50 new $50,000 or greater donors each year.
  • Redesigned the leadership annual giving program to increase the number of lower five-figure gifts by more than 10 percent, and repurposed the Andrew Carnegie Society Board (leadership annual giving) to focus their efforts equally on peer solicitations and stewardship activities.
  • Implemented a customer relationship model in the annual giving program.
  • Within the first year this resulted in the reversal of the approximate loss of 1,000 donors per year, without increasing operating dollars.
  • Maintained a salary and operating budget of $5 million.
