Worked along sided a VE teacher (support facilitator) conducting small groups in seven different classrooms. The grade levels were third and fifth grade students with a range of learning disabilities. Conducted various reading lessons with three of the small groups as well as gave assistance to four small math groups. Was given responsibility of each group within four to five months after working along side the VE teacher.
Worked with five students in which ages ranged from 12 to 16 on reading and mathematics skills. Conducted small group and individual classroom activities based on differentiated learning needs. Helped prepare daily lesson plans for activities and lessons. Supplied one-on-one attention to each student, while maintaining overall focus on the entire group. Worked with two other interns in a co-teach setting.
Assisted four to six children per station during small group learning periods. Worked with the students on reading in various reading contents (multiple meaning words, identifying cause-effect scenarios, paraphrasing, etc.).
Tutored twelve to fifteen students with various disabilities in various subjects (home economics, mathematics, science, social studies) and accumulated 300+ hours with these students.
