I've been in the automotive field since I was fifteen and have become diverse in just about all areas of the field. I managed an Oil Can Henry's (lube stop), where I handled book keeping, hiring and parole. I was shop foreman and a auto tech doing front end work, brakes and engine diagnostics. I'm very accustomed to diagnostic systems, alignment machines, ac services, flush machines, tire mount & balancers, brake lathes, tpms tools specialty tools. I spent a few years as a RV tech where I worked on 110v and DC electrical, plumbing carpentry, generators and operating forklifts.
I've worked very hard to stay up to date in the automotive field, learning many areas of the field not just specializing.
A few of my responsibilities are lead tech in automotive diagnose and repair. the majority of the work is performing safety inspection/used car inspection, for resale. Anything from tires, oil changes, brakes, electrical diag. to engine replacements. Also in charge of ordering parts and often picking up parts. Delivering vehicles to and from the the car lots to the shop. Keeping shop clean and insuring a safe work environment.
The majority of my duties consisted of helping other techs with electrical diagnosis. I can competently operate brake lathes alignment machines(several brand machines), ac recover and charge, fluid flushes, recalls, leak repairs and major repairs.
Changing and balancing tires, changing tmps sensors and reprogram, organizing tires and restocking and general safety.
General maintenance, electrical diag., front end repair and alignments, engine and transmission replacements, small engine repair(golf carts), heavy equipment repair(backhoe, forklift and diesel buses) and other minor repairs.
Semi truck trailer repair, including brakes, slider box rebuilds, abs diag. and repair, side panel & roof repairs and replacements and some minor wiring.
PDI's on new RV units, including toy haulers, fifth wheels, gas and diesel motor homes. Repairs include trim repair or replace, ac unit testing and replacing, slide out repairs and replacement, general maintenance(Lof, brakes, ac charge, flushes, tank service and cleaning) plumbing, a/c wiringd d/c wiring repairs, generator services(rebuild, tune up, lof) generator add on installs. Maintaining a safe work environment.
I started as a tire tech installing and passenger car and semi truck tires and moved up to automotive tech. I started with small minor repairs(tune ups, lof, brakes, alignments) and moved to doing custom suspension and body(lift and lowering kits, body modifications).
I started as a lube tech changing oil, replacing filters, performing fluid flushes(transmission, coolant, power steering) and gearbox services. I was promoted to shift manager after two months and learned the book keeping and was in charge of opening and closing the store. Three months later I was promoted to manager and was in charge of hiring and let go's.
