MAINTENANCE MANAGER, 06/2006 to 09/2019
  • I started as a Maintenance Apprentice and learned many things such hydraulic functions, pneumatic functions and some basic electrical quickly and within 1 ½ years I was promoted to Maintenance Shift Lead where I was responsible for 5 team members and leading the team on repairs and trouble shooting.
  • I reported out issues to Department Managers including Plant Manager.
  • I worked as the Shift Lead for 7 years and then was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor leading all crews with safety, PLC trouble shooting, mechanical trouble shooting, basic electrical trouble shooting, repairs, ordering of parts needed, scheduling shifts, vacation scheduling and shutdown work scheduling.
  • After about 6 years of being Supervisor I was promoted to Maintenance Manager where I was responsible for 35 people including an Electrical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer.
  • I was also responsible for driving all aspects of safety, cost control, budget, downtime reports, improvement planning, 5s implementing, contractor scheduling, major repairs, sourcing parts and labor, A3's, MDI meetings, and PDCA's.

  • I transferred to the Paint Department as a loader/unloader for about a year and was promoted to Lead Loader where I was responsible for the loading team hanging aluminum according to schedule and customer request for proper paint coverage.
  • After working as the Lead Loader, I was promoted to Lead Unload/QC Ticket Writer where I was responsible for all QC paint checks, hardness and packed to customer request.
  • During breaks and off days, I spent time in the paint application area learning the process of painting and performing wet paint checks to further my knowledge of the process of the plant.
  • After almost 5 years in the Paint Department I then transferred to the Extrusion Department.
  • 1/30/98 - 6/06/06 EXTRUSION PRESS LEADER, CARADON INDALEX I transferred to the Extrusion Department as a Finish Saw Helper where I learned how to operate the finish saws properly and to keep up with production.
  • After about 3 months, I was promoted to Saw Leader in charge of performing QC checks on the material by checking dimensions with calipers, visual defects, cut length, making proper documentation and sending to proper department.
  • While working at the saw I would come in on my days off and train on forklift which gave me access to the Extrusion press.
  • I continued to learn more about the press and then became a press operator.
  • I worked as a press operator for about 7 months and then was promoted to Press Leader where I was responsible for 5 team members, making sure the proper dies were running at correct temperature and speed to make temper, proper stretch, correct dimensions and no visual defects.
  • I was working on the press for about 6-7 years and learned about the presses and mechanical parts and was offered a job as a Maintenance Apprentice.
