Summary of Responsibilities: Verifies that all required reports forms/clearances/signatures are complete and author instructions are consistent on various forms and report package is complete when received by Tech Pubs; Provides authoritative guidance as it pertains to engineering, technical, or scientific publication standards; Enters reports into control log and assigns report numbers; Edits and does limited re-writing of a wide variety of technical, scientific, and management documents from data provided, assuring that the material is appropriate for its intended audience; Edits manuscripts for literacy, style, clarity, continuity of thought, consistency and conformance to publication policy and standards; Consults with the author concerning rewrites and reorganizes material as required to meet objectives. Resolves inconsistencies with author; Assures that editorial marks and instructions concerning the manuscript are clear to the data integrator and all actions requested by the author are taken concerning the processing, electronic printing, and distribution of documents; Ensures that all figures and tables are properly placed in the document and cited in the document text prior to placement.; Verifies that all bibliographic entries are cited in the correct order in manuscript texts and reviews all bibliographic entries to ensure authors have cited references in standard format; Coordinates edited/reformatted reports with authors for final clearance prior to publication and completes a final check of the report once computer operator has prepared the final document for publication.
Performs final review of all technical and special reports.
Edits and verifies all editing performed by Technical Writers.
Meets with government authors prior to final release of technical reports
Verifies that all necessary approvals have been obtained prior to releasing final report for distribution.
Serves as courier of classified technical reports to other government facilities.
Works directly with the Security and Intelligence office of AMRDEC to verify that all technical/special reports contain the proper marking and distribution codes.
