  • ACTIVITIES: I am involved in the Student Nurse Organization program at Xavier University and actively participate in events and fundraisers within the club. As a member of the Autism Speaks club, I help raise money and awareness to the care of autistic children. This experience expands my skills in pediatrics, especially those with disabilities. Additionally, I am a member of Active Minds at Xavier, which is a non-profit organization that promotes mental health and de-stigmatizes mental illness. As a participant in Active Minds I have developed compassion for mental illness and learned various holistic approaches and management for these diseases. Being a member of a team is really important to me, which is why I participate in various Intramural sports at Xavier. As a team member, I am able to develop my skills of collaboration, leadership, and fairness. These skills allow me to be an outstanding asset to any team within a hospital. Additionally, I think it is important to come together as a community to help others in need. As a participant of the Labre team, I provide care, compassion, meals, and clothes to local homeless shelters. Also, I am a volunteer at Matthew 25: Ministries, Inc to help provide food, clothing, shelter, and medical supplies to victims of disasters. As a nurse, it is vital to possess great interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients and families. Since I am a nanny throughout the school year for a family that lives nearby, I have developed and mastered the skills of discipline, trust, first aid, and friendliness with children and their families. In brief, all of these experiences have made me a very well-rounded person with the ability to accept changes and adjust to new surroundings.
