I have 14 years experience working in the human service field, my main focus over these years has been providing services to gentlemen and women with diagnosis of IDD and/or MI. I do not view this field as just a job, rather, this is my calling in life. Supervise an Adult Foster Care Home where I lead a team of 8-10 employees which include interviewing, hiring process and training. I provide direct care to 4 adult females that carry diagnosis' of Schizophrenia and mild ID, Bi-polar, Borderline personality disorders, suicidal ideation and chemical dependency. Also complete administrative duties such as payroll, accounting, filing and ensuring all cliental documents are up to date. When I'm not providing direct care or training staffing I am responsible to write up all programming for the ladies we provide supports to which includes annual assessments, quarterly reports, data collection monthly, risk management assessment and plan, behavior support plan, review of psychotropic medications, facilitate meetings with the lady's IDT members, work closely with medical professionals and county case managers to ensure proper and current programming is sufficient and beneficial to said client.
Assisted the team lead/supervisor with paperwork which included monthly census reports, quarterly data collection, receipts, menu planning, running appointments and filing. Provided direct care to 4 adult females in the Adult Foster Care home designated for those with MI from implementing program treatment plans to assisting client's with daily cares. My main duty was to ensure the stability of the ladies at all times observing behaviors and any side effects medications may present and reporting to deemed medical professionals as needed. Completion of household chores as needed such as cooking, cleaning. ect.
Provided direct care to 4 adult females in an Adult Foster Care home designated for those with MI which consisted of assisting with daily routines, cooking, cleaning, going out in the community for outings, attending doctor appointments, ordering medications, grocery shopping, menu planning and attending regular staffing meetings and training as deemed necessary by my TL.
Supervised a transitional group home where I lead a team of 5-7 employees which included interviewing, hiring process and training. I also provided direct care to 5 adult females diagnosed with IDD. Completed administrative duties such as filing, ensuring all documents are up to date, scheduling and attending appointments with the ladies, facilitating monthly staff meetings as well as attending supervisory meetings, writing up quarterly reports, data collections monthly, and facilitate meetings with the lady's IDT members.
Started out working in a congregate care group home that housed 8 individuals at one time. I assisted with daily routines, cooking, cleaning, going out in the community for outings, attending doctor appointments, ordering medications, grocery shopping, menu planning and attending regular staffing meetings and trainings as deemed necessary of my boss. RRHSF then transferred me from Wahpeton to Fargo where I continued on the path of Direct Support Professional. I was able to work my way up to the residential coordinator position.
