  • Teacher duties including but not limited to: developing engaging daily lessons, both classroom and virtual, that align NGSS standards and IS7 and IS8 curricula, developing informational and organized Google slides that allow students to follow information and directions with clear understanding in order to reach mastery, writing IB lesson and unit plans that identify IB-ATL skills that students will participate in as they progress through the curriculum, adapting daily classwork and homework to accommodate needs of students with IEPs, to include ARS students, 504s, as well as ESOL students.
  • Teaching Investigations in Science 7 curriculum including: proper technique for using a microscope, genetics, anatomy and physiology, nutrition and disease states, Earth's history and evolution, plant and animal cellular structure and function.
  • Teaching Investigations in Science 8 curriculum including: geology with continental drift and process affect by that as well as rock and mineral formation and identification, weather processes including climate determining factors and natural resources, physics including motion and all laws and forces that act on or change motion, and astronomy including unequal heating of the planet, solar system formation, galaxy formation and variation, and concepts governing the movement of celestial bodies.
  • Co-Lead for Grade 8 Cohort with duties including but not limited to: planning meetings that put emphasis on lesson planning, SLO development, data analysis, IB inclusion in lessons, creating up-to-date planning agendas for each meeting, and assuring flip charts and Google slides are in alignment with SIP goals.
  • Created system of monitoring progress of science students that includes reaching out to remind students to attend lunchtime help. This system was introduced to 8th grade team, per 8th grade administrator, as possible alternative for keeping students on task.
  • Routinely communicate with parents in both English, Spanish (if needed), and other languages (if needed) in order to maintain open and positive communication about their child's academics. Offered insight of how to help their child improve academically and socially, and how we can work as a team to better improve science experiences for their child.
  • Involved in 8th grade team by participating in data analysis, school improvement planning, 8th grade field trip planning, and overall 8th grade students performance both academically and socially.
  • MYP (Middle Years Programme) Community Project Coach which included assisting groups of students to determine what area the students would like to focus on in their community project, assist students with developing process journals and maintaining entries throughout project, monitoring that IB criterion requirements are being met, encouraging students to complete presentation on time, and overall cheerleader throughout project to keep students motivated.
