My name is Jessica Claire and I would love to be a part of the Middle School After Care Program. I enjoy working with kids and making a positive difference in their lives.

I have been married to my husband for 18 years and we have 3 wonderful kids. They are the ages of 17, 14, and 11. I have been a stay at home mom for most of my adult life and then started a job with the Mcdowell County Schools when our youngest was beginning Kindergarten.

I loved my job but after 4 years of working our schedules became crazy and it was best that I was more available for my family at that time.

I became a member at our local YMCA in the year 2018 and I realized what I had been missing. I was to afraid to go ask about membership when my kids were younger in fear that I would be turned way or that we couldn't afford it. I was wrong. After sometime I saw there were some openings in the Aquatics Department and I went for it. I obtained my Lifeguard certification and began working shortly after. I also became a certified swim instructor and began teaching swim lessons. I enjoy talking and engaging with our members and giving back to our community.

I would love the opportunity to become the McDowell Middle School Lead. I am a hard worker and I am a team player. I would give 110% and be open to any training and coaching. I am and honest person and strongly believe on the Y's core values Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
