Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the development of treatment plans geared toward Person Centered Planning for individuals with developmental disabilities, chairing the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, developing and monitoring the budgetary units for Title XIX I/DD Waiver services, and acting as liaison and advocate with local school systems to link individuals with developmental disabilities to outside resources for needed services. Additional duties include assisting individuals with meeting a level of independence within their community and living environments, providing linkage and referrals to outside resources such as Marshall County Senior Services, Housing assistance, local Department of Health & Human Resources offices, and various other community organizations that promote not only a level of independence, but also appropriate social interactions with peers, and to promote the need for individuals with developmental disabilities to gain competitive employment. Direct Support Professional Responsibilities include providing parents/caregivers of individual participating in Title XIX I/DD Waiver services with breaks in routine levels of care. Responsibilities include assisting teachers in general duties within the classroom setting. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting mental impaired students with basic hygiene and routine scheduling habits, kindergarten classrooms with carrying out lesson plans, and assisting children in a one-on-one classroom setting.
