- Headed the Finance Reporting team as we tested and implemented the Budget and Forecasting System in Q1 of FY2014 for NMC on time per project milestones with no rework required.
- Increased the use of global BHPB standard metrics by encouraging management to populate internal finance reports using 1SAP sourced data. Previous methods relied on metrics calculated outside of the system, which caused misalignment between local key performance indicators (KPIs) with global KPIs that determined our end of the year performance.
- Established various checklist/sign-off sheets to improve forecast accuracy, ensure audit trail of approvals was maintained, and assign accountability for each deliverable across the team.

- Managed the successful transition of the ownership and management of employee benefits from the Petroleum business unit to NMC effective 1 January 2013.
- Supervised the preparation of the first US GAAP compliant NMC financial statements and the subsequent audit of the financial statements by KPMG.
- Formalized and implemented a new NMC Finance team organization structure that aligned with the BHPB Organizational Design Protocol in April 2013 that resulted in my team splitting into three functions reporting directly into the Head of Finance: Risk & Compliance, Finance Business Partnership, and Accounting.
- Hired and trained three resources (Cash & Payroll Accountant, Tax
Accountant, and Specialist Accountant) to fill resourcing needs within the team
following the implementation of the Financial Services Delivery Model that was
rolled out in October 2011.

- Co-ordinated the reorganization of BHP Navajo Coal Co, San Juan Coal Company and San Juan Transportation into the new BHPB New Mexico Coal Inc. consolidated holding company.
- Tested and implemented new intercompany loan structures
- Guided the creation of new bank accounts for BHPB New Mexico Coal Inc. that formed part of the Global BHP Billiton Bank of America (BoA) pool account structure with input from Group Treasury in London which resulted in NMC managing a multi-million dollar bank account instead of Group Treasury.
- Revamped the monthly reconciliation process to accurately classify reconciling items so they could be monitored in Recman. This resulted in the clearing of aged items greater than 120+.
