As an instructor in a Christian Academy, his efforts went above and beyond as he organized special speakers, area business leaders, and missionaries for weekly Chapel services. Students brought in bread, fruit, water, and other supplies, prepared the lunches, added Scriptures and other encouraging notes, and then actually hand-delivered their meals to the persons in need. Beginning before school started each year, he sent out shopping lists for Operation Christmas Child to families, encouraging them to pick up a few extra supplies on sale for this annual service project. Franklin Graham's foundation then distributed these special gifts to children around the world.
1994 Children's Services Volunteer League Award for work at the Emergency Shelters on the campus of Dorothy Thomas School led to this position. Began professional teaching experience in this public school center for Emotionally and Behaviorally Disabled students. Was successful with the elementary students and began training to become a teacher.
