  • Sex Offender Leveling. Responsible for leveling sex offenders and yearly address verification.
  • Vacate Conviction(s) Investigator for Municipal Court Prosecutor Office. Conduct criminal background investigations for the Municipal Prosecutor, making recommendations to the Prosecutor.
  • Assistant Computer Systems Administrator for the Sunnyside Police Department 1997 - 2020. SPILLMAN record system network for the department from 1997 to 2011 and then the department administrator from 2011 - 2020 for the shared SPILLMAN record system for the county. Conduct training sessions, and developed policy on MDC usage.
  • Firearms Instructor / Range Officer 1997-2020. Supervise assistant instructors and the training of all Officers and Corrections Officers, in the use of deadly force, safe firearms handling, and marksmanship. Plan and make decisions within department budget specifications on purchases for the armory. Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of all department owned firearms and other equipment associated with the armory.

  • Reserve Academy Commander, 2004. Sunnyside Police Department sponsored the Reserve Academy for Yakima County with attendees from agencies and departments in Yakima & Benton County.
  • Field Training Officer 1993 to 2003. Trained 10 Regular and Reserve Officers for the department.
  • State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) Coordinator. Responsible for the reimbursement from the U.S. Department of Justice for the department's incurring costs of incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens. Researched and compiled jail booking data, then made application to the Department of Justice for the funding.
  • Officer Gun Buy Program. 2003 & 2011. Department's liaison between the officers and the City, protecting and representing both parties. Coordinated the officers firearms and related equipment requests; solicited bids from dealers; placed and distributed orders; assisted in updating the payback agreement between the officers and the city; developed spreadsheets for the city finance department on officer payroll deductions.
  • Developed, implemented, organized and held public presentations of the Landlord Training Program: Keeping Illegal Activity Out of Rental Property. 1991-1993. The Landlord Training Program was the first community oriented policing program in the State of Washington to inform landlords on their rights under Washington State Law. It was nominated in 1993 for Crime Prevention Program of the Year by the Washington State Crime Prevention Association.
  • Sunnyside Police Officers Guild contract negotiation team. 2013, 2010.
  • Sergeants Guild, contract negotiation team. 2009, 2006, 2005.
  • Union Representative for the Patrolman's Union. 1992-1998. PERC arbitration hearing with one of the contracts. Negotiated two union contracts with the City of Sunnyside.
