A dedicated Sterilization Technician, Receptionist, and Dental Assistant I have become quite skilled at multi-tasking in this work environment. As sterilization tech., I prepare any and all dental instruments (tools) for cleansing and sterilizing. I run maintenance and testing weekly on our sterilizing equipment.
For the reception side, I file patient charts, answer phone calls, make appointment reminder calls, fill out paperwork and do research for certain paperwork as needed, mail letters, make phone calls to insurance to check information, and assist patients with checking them in, taking payments, and scheduling future appointments. Plus various other tasks.
As a dental assistant, I take x-rays. I polish, floss, and fluoride teeth and I do sealants.
I took care of all the needs of three young boys. This is where I gained the most experience of the real world. I have never preformed more tasks and skills than I did at this job. They all have different personalities and a mind of their own!! I also worked some part time jobs outside the home during these years, but they were more for the benefit of my sons.
