As a solids control tech my responsibilities are to maintain a desired mud weight set by mud engineer. mud weight is reduced by running mud through our centrifuges either by just running conventional or using a polymer to flock solids together. Also we are responsible for fluid transfers and emptying of catch tanks using a loader. We are responsible to maintain our equipment and repair as needed. our equipment consist of centrifugal,self priming diesel, gorman electrical, and fisher pumps. Also small chemical pumps. centrifuges, mudcleaners, vacuum degassers, chokes and gas busters.
