Utilizing a variety of learning tools challenged and motivated 30 undergraduate students of diverse educational, racial-ethnic, age, and socioeconomic backgrounds in Sociology (SOC2510). Initiated thought-provoking classroom discussions to help students develop critical thinking abilities. Implemented extra-credit assignment requiring participation in Student Success Center activities to sharpen to increase awareness of career opportunities, improve students study skills and sharpen test taking methods. Established D2L course website to make handouts, documentaries, grades and other supplemental resources available at all times. Maintained thorough records of attendance and grades. Maintained regularly-scheduled office hours to advise and assist students. Proctored final examinations. Developed course syllabus. Challenged, motivated students in Sociology (SOC2510) and Race & Ethnic Group Relations (SOC2530) courses through in-depth lectures and discussions with students from diverse backgrounds.
