Responsible for work relative to preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, repair, and maintenance for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Ways, Structures & Amenities Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, repair, and maintain components of the signal system, which includes all associated signal equipment, such as highway grade crossing equipment, switch devices, train to wayside (TWC), vital/nonvital processors, and other signal apparatus related to rail service.
Install, remove, or replace required switch-operating mechanisms, interlocking machines, accessories, and similar signal equipment.
Responsible for safe functioning of signal equipment governing train movement during repairs, renewals or replacement.
Promptly respond to all signal related occurrences and/or emergency situations.
Monitor microprocessors and recorder/analyzing equipment and interpret and analyze data.
Maintain material usage and production logs.
Abide by DART safety requirements, rules, and regulations.
Maintain proper communication with Rail Operation Control while on duty.
